For sale at auction: Lot #1332.1 - Boyd Coddington, Roy Fjastad and Jerry Magnuson built '32 Ford Hi-boy Roadster. Built in Boyd's shop in 1979, this historic Hi-boy is the result of collaboration between some of the biggest names in American Hot Rods. Roy Fjastad and his son Carl custom built and assembled the chassis and suspension on the car. Roy and Carl are the founders of the Deuce Factory which has become famous for their work producing chassis for '32 Fords. This car was built as a promotional vehicle for their company and appeared on the cover of the Deuce Factory catalog for a number of years. The engine is a 231cid Buick with a 110 Magna Supercharger that was custom built and installed personally by Jerry Magnuson, owner and founder of Magnuson Superchargers. The engine was featured on the cover of the V6 Performance Handbook with a full article discussing and documenting its build. The car's final construction, fit and finish was performed by none other than Boyd Coddington and Roy Fjastad. The car was finished just 2 years after the doors first opened on Boyd's shop making this a very early build in his legendary career. The body is glass with a steel nose and deck lid. The rear end is a real Halibrand quick change, fully polished and chromed with 3.23 gears. The suspension is polished stainless 4-link front and rear with a chrome Superbell front axle and chrome shocks and coilovers in the rear. It has 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and the entire exhaust system is stainless steel. The transmission is a Turbo 350 automatic. This car was ahead of its time when built and remains virtually identical to how it was when it first rolled out of Boyd's shop with fewer than 8,000 miles since its completion and still wearing its original paint. The car comes documented with a letter of authenticity along with many of the publications this car has appeared in. Titled as a 1932 Ford, this Boyd Coddington, Roy Fjasta and Jerry Magnuson built Hi-boy is truly a piece of American Hot Rod history and represents an extremely rare opportunity to own a car built by some of the most iconic hot rod builders of all time.
