In 1967, Plymouth ordered the manufacture of the Dodge D-700 for the pioneering NHRA Pro Stock racing team of Sox & Martin. The truck was then sold to Tom "Mongoose" McEwen in 1970 and modified to match Don Prudhomme's own yellow '67 D-700 for the beginning of Mattel's Hot Wheels "Snake vs. Mongoose" promotions. Forty years later, Prudhomme located the truck with its original Chrysler vehicle identification Certicard in Riverside, CA where it had been neglected for several years. He oversaw the complete, frame-off restoration, which took nearly two years. Now complete, both original Snake & Mongoose Hot Wheels trucks are the signature pieces of Prudhomme's collection.
