Description
Lot #5080 - This 1929 Cadillac Fleetwood Imperial Transformable Limousine was a special build and overseen by the President of Cadillac Motor Cars, Lawrence P. Fisher. It is documented that on May 20, 1929, Lawrence P. Fisher wrote a letter to President and Mrs. Hoover informing them of the shipment of the "Special Cadillac Fleetwood Imperial Sedan Cabriolet" as a gift from his brothers and himself. The numerous original components include Chassis #334949, V8 engine, top, front leather seats and door panels, and chauffeurs top, all in remarkable condition. This vehicle was part of the Imperial Palace Collection Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada; Dean Kruse US National Military Museum in Auburn, Indiana; and exhibited in the Hoover U.S. Government Presidential Library from April to October 2014. Its current owner obtained the vehicle four years ago. The focus on the restoration was to preserve as many of the original components and parts to this 1929 as possible. The extensive preservation restoration was begun and completed in less than a year. Noted original components are the suspension, drive train and motor.
