Description
Lot #988 - An absolutely stunning 1932 Auburn, eight cylinder, model 8-100 Phaeton, total frame off restoration completed in 2004. Over $150,000 invested in the restoration alone. Recently certified by the Auburn, Cord and Dusenberg club (ACD ID No. A-423; Cerificate No. 218814234). Red with Maroon accent and gold pin striping. A beautiful restoration including a new "John Forsigth" engine (highly reguard by ACD judges). New paint, new red leather interior, new carpeting, new chrome, new canvas top, new instruments, new tires and much more. This car is not just a museum piece. It runs and drives beautifully. Last summer it completed, without the slightest problem, a 200 mile tour from Auburn Indiana to Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to the ACD Museum, only 855 of these classics were manufactured in 1932, with few remaining in existance today. To many, the 1932 model is the most beautiful of the Auburn Phaetons. Enthusiast often refer to it as a baby Dusenberg because its classic lines look so much like the awesome Duesenberg.
