Description
Lot #645.1 - 1932 was, in our opinion, Packard's finest hour, with superb styling, outstanding performance and the greatest variety of models ever offered by a manufacturer of fine motor cars. In spite of this wonderful line up, Packard's sales during this worlds depression year were less than 8,000 cars. 1932 models are today among the rarest and most desirable of the classic era Packards! This 1932 Packard Series 902 Club Sedan with 320 cubic inch, 110 horsepower straight 8 engine features the complicated 'Bijur' lubricating system, the optional vacuum operated clutch and the new synchromesh 3-speed transmission. Two-tone light over dark Maroon with dual side mounts, chrome wire wheels, whitewall tires and Pilot Ray's lights. This car has virtually every option offered by Packard in 1932. Following a complete frame-off restoration by Glenn Shaffer, this Club Sedan was judged "Best of Show" in the 1987 Packard Grand Salon, and is a member of the Packards International "Circle of Champions".
