Lot #175 - This striking 1934 Chevrolet 3-window coupe started life at the facilities of the legendary Downs Manufacturing. In fact, it was the personal project of owner Jim Downs, and over $200,000 was spent to create this magnificent one-of-a-kind street rod. Power from the tastefully chromed 350 Ram Jet engine is transferred to the rear wheels via a Chevrolet 350 transmission. 225x40 ZR 20 (18's on the front) BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on Billet Specialties wheels provide superior adhesion and handling. Despite its 80-year-old heritage, this coupe was built with plenty of concessions to modern day conveniences. Heater and air-conditioning, power windows and locks (with remote controls) and power trunk release are included. Additionally, it is independently suspended on all four corners with 4-wheel disc brakes, polished rear end and half shafts, a distinctive satin stainless steel front grill and a luxurious leather interior.
