Description
Lot #946 - This is a truly unique Model 852 Dual-Ratio Convertible Phaeton with a fresh 2004 restoration that includes new paint throughout, a new top and some new chrome. The original motor #GG 5359 is in the car, serial #5594-H. During an earlier frame-off restoration, the previous owner created a car with a one-of-a-kind look. The car is not supercharged, but has the correct side exhausts and body attachments of a supercharged Auburn, along with a side mount spare on the passenger side. The car was certified by the ACD Club with these unique modifications. ACD certification #A-144 will be furnished with the car. This Auburn is powered by a Lycoming 279 cubic inch straight-eight 115 horsepower engine. The transmission is a three-speed with Auburn's unique Dual-Ratio capability. The shift-on-the-fly Dual-Ratio feature allows the driver to change from Low Ratio (4.5 to 1) to High Ratio (3 to 1) while driving at speeds up to 40 mph. Gordon Buehrig created this "Baby Duesenberg" with a striking raked front end and radiator grill. This beautiful silver/gray car drives great, and even has two hard to find original accessories - a radio and a heater. It is a real crowd pleaser.
