Description
Lot #395 - "Lucile" is a true 1937 Ford, five window coupe. A real rust free steel body survivor. The dashboard was hand formed in aluminum then hammer welded and finished to a seamless one-piece unit. The Sony monitor displays what the rear view cameras see. There is no need for rear view mirrors. Overhead control panel is operated by aircraft safety switches and indicator lights. There is no square metal on this machine. The chassis is over under rails with cross bracing throughout, and is constructed of 1- 1/3" mild steel tube with a .125" wall. There is a complete roll cage. The front spindles and control arms are from a Corvette, aluminum C-4. There is a 9" strange rear end, with a four bar track locator. The license tag rotates and displays three different tags. The windshield appears not to have a frame. The frame is behind the glass, and the glass seals neatly to the body when closed. With a twist of the knob, you can experience what Harley Davidsons are all about all in the comfort of this bad boy. The heart of "Lucile" is Chevy's new 572 cubic inch crate mill with 620 horsepower on pump gas. Thunder control is via pro street headers into 4 inch side pipes that are under the running boards. The louvers on the inner fenders have a curved pattern, this is to flow with the shape of the body. "Lucile" was featured three times in Hot Rod Magazine, and ultimately awarded there annual Top Ten Award. "Lucile" was the cover story for Street Rodder magazine, and a cover of Chrome Flames a French magazine. "Lucile" was the recipient of the Body Codington Pros Pick, and awarded by Body on the Indianapolis Race Way, "Lucile" is a pure bred champion.
