Description
Lot #653 - 1948 was the last year for the pre-war styling introduced in 1942 on Buick's senior cars ( Super and Roadmaster). The Super used Buick's well proved 248 cubic inch straight eight, with compression raised for this year to 6.6 to 1. This resulted in a horsepower boost to 115. Built built 112,441 Supers for 1948, of which 19,017 were the model 56-C convertible. Originally priced at $2,518, the super convertible was the third most expensive car in Buick's 1948 line, eclipsed only by the Super Estate Wagon and the Roadmaster convertible and wagon. Burgundy exterior, tan leather interior. Nice older restoration. No visable rust. 3 speed manual transmission. We've driven this car some locally and it's a really good driving convertible Buick. Would be a good choice for Vintage tours. It has power operated top, power windows and power front seat. *TITLE IN TRANSIT*
