Description
Lot #654.1 - 1952 was the first year for the new V8 "Hemi Head" engine in the DeSoto line. Never known as a sporting car, DeSoto was about to change that image! These wonderful engines would soon be found in everything from race cars to hot rods. This rare convertible model could be ordered in most any color, but only 613 were built. Many DeSotos were cannibalized to make customs during the 50's and 60's. This 1952 Desoto convertible is believed to be very rare now as only 3 such cars are known to have survived. Completely restored by Glenn Shaffer, the car features the famed "Fire Dome" V8 "Hemi" engine, 276 cubic inch, 160 horsepower, factory power steering, and semi-manual Fluid Drive transmission. Especially favored is the famous grille!
