Description
Lot #80 - One of the most collectible buick's of all time, only 1690 skylarks were built in 1953 to commemorate buick's 50th anniversary. At a price of $5,000 it was one of the most expensive cars sold in that year and so completely equipped, no optional equipment was offered. This car is among a handful of survivors, originally one of three sold in mississippi. It was purchased there over 20 years ago by the current owner, a former president of the '53-'54 skylark club, and carefully restored 15 years ago. The mandarin red color was the most spectacular of all. The offerings in 1953 and is much sought after. The pristine interior was perfectly restored by the noted automotive upholsterer, the late george whiteman restored to be a driver, this car draws attention wherever it goes and still is a consistent show winner.
