Description
Lot #648.1 - In 1953, General Motors produced several limited edition "Dream Cars" to showcase the various divisions' products. The Buick Skylark was perhaps the most unique and beautiful of these cars. Highly customized by the factory, they have been frequently copied by the customizers and Hot Rod builders. Using the Roadmaster chassis and engine, both the body and windshield were sectioned and the famous port holes were eliminated. Full wheel cutouts were used to show off the chromed wire wheels. Powered by the famous 322 cubic inch, 188 horsepower "Nail Head" OHV V8, this 1953 Buick Skylark convertible was one of the first full power cars built with Dyno-flow automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and radio. Only 1,690 of these beauties were built and fewer than 50 are believed to exist today! The Skylark is considered by most collectors to be the most beautiful Buick of all time!
