Lot #715.1 - You are viewing a beautiful restored 1955 European Volkswagen sunroof sedan. This Bug is painted in its original color of Code "l54" Poppy Red. The paint remains in excellent condition. Other exterior features of this VW Bug are as follows: door glass, latches, raised ridged door panels, finger guards on front and doors, Volkswagen script on the hood, European front license plate, tall rear gravel guards, cheese grater exhaust trim, 5.60 x 15 wide white wall tires and jack receiver plugs. All of the rubber is new as are the brakes, running boards, emblems, shocks, clutch and trim. The pan is undercoated. European features are bumpers, semaphores, fluted head lights and a kilometer speedometer. This Bug even has the rare optional sunroof. The 1955 VW Bug was only produced 7 months from January-July. The red Sewfine vintage interior is completely restored and features a Bat Wing steering wheel, ribbed handles and cranks, straight shifter, glovebox pull, threshold moldings, passenger sun visor and a Motorola AM radio and antenna. In the rear is the rebuilt 4 cylinder engine #1-1078379 with powdercoated engine tins. This engine runs excellent and the non-syncro 1st gear transmission shifts excellent. Under the front hood is a 100mm square gas tank, new firewall insulation and new wiring harness. This is a beautiful vintage 1955 VW Bug that you want to own.
