Lot #437 - This complete frame-up restoration was done entirely by the seller, with the exception of the upholstery which was done by a custom upholstery shop. No kits were used in this car. Total restoration took over five years. All doors and hood are hand-fitted. All engine and other parts are correct, including correct and numbered 240 HP engine, transmission, and 4.56 posi. Paint is number correct. Body work included replacement of any damaged, dinged, or rusted metal. Body was then filled and sanded until perfect. Etching primer was followed by urethane primer with hours of sanding between coats. Base coat was followed by six layers of clear coat with each layer being scuffed, sanded with 2000 grit, and many hours of hand buffing. The result is a deep, clear, smooth black. This car has been shown only in the West in "Trailored-Modified" classes. It earned 991 points at the '97 Reno CCI show, and 986 points at the '98 Denver CCI show taking high point for it's class. At Bow Tie shows it has won Best Paint and Best Interior and again, high point in its class. Between shows, this car is stored, covered, in a heated garage on stands with water and oil drained. It has never been exposed to salt or humidity. It has never been street driven except at shows. This car was featured in the January 1997 issue of Classic Chevy World, re-print enclosed.
