Description

Lot #658 - This car was a very original Bel Air with 79,000 miles prior to an extensive nut-and-bolt restoration. It retains all the original sheet metal with exception of the driver front fender. The body is very straight with great gaps. The hood, doors and trunk lid open and close excellent. The rare and factory-correct Dusk Plum and India Ivory paint combination is simply stunning. All the glass (with the exception of the passenger door glass) is original and in beautiful condition. Both the front and rear bumper are original and were rechromed. The correct Charcoal and Ivory interior is like new and very elegant. Everything in is working order, such as gauges, horn, directionals, heat, radio and clock. The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with the correct matching spare tire, stickers and trunk mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the original 265 Power Pack V8. This engine wasn't rebuilt but refreshed. It starts and runs amazing. The engine is coupled to the original 3-speed transmission and rear end. The clutch is very smooth and shifts effortlessly. Factory-style correct power steering was added during the restoration for easy operation purposes. The undercarriage of this beauty is also highly detailed. It's been finished in the correct red oxide paint. The shocks have been upgraded for a smoother ride. The original style shocks and car cover are included. 79,815 original miles. An AACA Junior and Senior Grand National Award winner along with a Chevrolet Classic Platinum Award winner, scoring 992 out of 1,000 possible points. Copies of the awards are included.
