Lot #826.1 - A ground-up restoration with 44,000 actual miles and has the matching body and engine numbers. Original porthole hardtop and white convertible top are included. This Thunderbird just received a Concours Primary Division Award at the Vintage Thunderbird International Convention on August 9, 2008. Among the most charismatic of collectible cars is this 1956 T-Bird having the unique and classiest color of the 1950's called Peacock Blue. A factory dress-up kit including the Continental tire Kit, fender skirts and chrome parts are added in the engine compartment. This T-Bird also has the five Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels designed for Thunderbirds. The second owner did a ground-up restoration with new suspension parts, rebuilt the 312cid engine, rebuilt the transmission and powdercoated every visible component on the undercarriage to prevent rust on the clean original body. A quality paint job was added. His effort was to provide perfection in a classic auto for a driver's safety while appearing as a brand new car. New brakes, shock absorbers and wide white wall tires were also added. The car was properly stored and cared for. The current owner recently purchased the car and finished detail work, tuned the engine, replaced the 50's blue cat eye tail lamps, replaced the original mufflers and tail pipes, and added new belts with hoses. All features of the car are operational, even the clock. The Thunderbird is an easy, smooth and reliable driver. The original owner's manual, parts book and repair manual will be furnished to the buyer. An odometer statement is also furnished that was acquired from the second owner.
