Lot #1214 - Powered by an original 225bhp/332cid overhead valve V8 with 2-barrel carburetor, Mile-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission, coil spring front suspension, live rear axle with leaf springs, and 4-wheel self-adjusting drum brakes. This Edsel Corsair convertible had the same owner for the last 30 years with less then only 72,500 documented original miles. It is an all numbers matching car and presented in very nice cosmetic and mechanical condition. The new paint from 2008 is beautiful and has been polished to an outstanding finish. The bright work, instrument cluster, chrome bezels and steering wheel are also very presentable condition and exhibit an as-new appearance. The two tone red and black upholstery, black carpeting and black convertible top appear to be new. The engine compartment and undercarriage have a tidy overall appearance. Other features of note include power steering, brakes and convertible top as well as the original working AM radio, wide white wall tires and the spare tire mounted in the spare tire well. One of the nicest Edsel's you will find. This Edsel Corsair convertible certainly leaves the admirer with an impression of style, performance and great driver to add and enjoy in any collection. It remains a wonderful example of mid-century upper middle class sporting style and as such, is well suited for continued driving enjoyment, event appearances and would be a great addition to any collection.
