Lot #929 - Along with being the first year Ford offered 4x4 (four wheel drive) the F-100 received an attractive face lift including the signature "FORD" name in big block letters across the hood. The interior featured new upholstery that was color keyed to the exterior, a white steering wheel with chrome horn ring and a two-tone instrument panel. ford also introduced four new exterior colors that could be combined with the Colonial White creating a stunning two-tone appearance. When ford entered the factory 4x4 field, Willys controlled 64.7% of the market. By the end of 1959 ford had secured 31% market share proving it was a force to be reckoned with.
This rare and amazing F-1 is finished in the best color combination Ford offered that year, Vermilion Red with Colonial White. It is powered by the optional 292ci V8, 172hp engine combined with the 4-speed manual transmission. a spectacular rotisserie restoration was completed on this rust free Utah truck using OEM parts. It is loaded with factory convenience options including Magic-Aire heater, transistor radio, two speed wiper with washers, bright outside rear view mirror, turn signals, spare tire, full wrap rear window, chrome front bumper, cigar lighter, dome light and custom cab option. A classic 4x4 that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
