OLDE ENGLISH WHITE
Lot #352 - Austin-Healey started sports car production in 1953 with the successful 100-4 model. This was developed into a 6-cylinder model known as the 100-6 which was then improved into the famous 3000 introduced in 1959. With more horsepower, greater torque and disc brakes as standard, the 3000 MKI was offered in both 4-seater and the rare 2-seater body styles. This exceptional 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 MKI BN-7 2-seat roadster was a solid, straight, long time California car. Finished in the traditional and lovely color scheme of Olde English White with red leather trim and black top. This rare and desirable 2-seater has just completed an extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration by Kurt Tanner Restorations to Austin-Healey Club Concours Gold level standards. Details of the restoration include show quality, two-stage body and paint work, new chrome, rubber, interior kit with leather seats, top and side curtains with bag, windshield, new 60-spoke stainless wire wheels with radial tires, new wiring harness and electrics, exhaust system and totally rebuilt engine and transmission. This vehicle has been restored with absolute authenticity in mind and the finest materials have been used. This attractive big Healey roadster is supplied with its BMIHT certificate attesting to its matching numbers and a photo album documenting its extensive and professional restoration. With a production run of 2,825 in 3-years, both enthusiasts and collectors alike prize the BN-7 for its performance, rarity and beautiful British "barchetta" styling reminiscent of the AC Ace and Cobra. A rare big Healey with the prettiest body style, restored by marque specialist to a very high standard.
