Lot #974 - Born in California with this beautiful Ermine White with Seafoam blaze color scheme, this is a first class restoration of a rust-free Bubbletop with all of the special appointments and options that were exclusive to Chevrolet's Super Sport package. Under the hood of this particular '61 Impala there's a non-original, high-performance 348cid V8 with triple two-barrel carburation and synchro-mesh 4-speed transmission. Decoding the VIN number reveals, the sixth digit L=Los Angeles, CA, the Van Nuys Chevrolet plant that opened in 1947. Starting from the first digit 1=year 1961, 18=car series Impala V8 engine, 37=2-door hardtop sport coupe 5 passenger. The Body Tag located adjacent the power brake booster and master-cylinder reveals this '61 Impala left the Van Nuys plant painted Code 936 Ermine White with a Code 903 Seafoam Green painted within the blaze in the body side molding. Optional accessories on this car also include AM radio and re-circulating heater. The floor pan in this Impala appears the same as the day it left the plant.
