Lot #853 - This is a beautiful example of an authentic R-code 427 Galaxie. This black-black 1963 ½ Galaxie Fastback came new and spent the majority of its life in California before being brought east in the early 1980s. History says this particular car did have some quarter mile drag strip history but not much beyond weekend warrior status, as this is basically an original car - never cut or highly modified. Upon acquiring it from the previous 30-year owner, it underwent a complete rebuild of the drivetrain to stock specifications. Since then the car has only been driven approximately 300 miles. The performance is outstanding and the car is sound and reliable. The outstanding body has all-original panels with no evidence of damage and no rust issues. The paint is nearly 20 years old with a very high-quality overall repaint that is not flawless, but still looks great. The interior is a combination of nice original pieces and some replacement items. It was also just refitted with original steel wheels mounting four new tires with the rears being a street legal cheater slick and topped off with NOS small hubcaps to complete the look. It is not a matching-numbers motor.
