Description

Lot #764 - The Austin-Healey 3000 was produced from 1959-1967. The BJ8 was the most powerful of the big engine Healeys with a 2.9 Liter, 6 cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors and producing 150hp, a newly designed exhaust system and servo-assisted brakes, the MK III was the most powerful and luxurious of the 3000s built. This convertible 2+2 MK III has a 4-speed manual gearbox with optional overdrive system. Other factory options include stainless wire wheels, a heater and adjustable steering wheel. This 1964 model has less than 100 miles since it completed a total Kurt Tanner nut and bolt, body-off, rotisserie restoration in late 2012. Tanner is internationally acknowledged at the foremost specialist of the Austin-Healey marque. It is a spectacular example of the breed, painted in the attractive factory color scheme of Metallic Golden Beige with red leather trim and black top and boot. Details of the restoration include bare metal chassis and body work with show quality paint, totally rebuilt engine with ancillaries, rebuilt suspension and brakes, new chrome, glass, rubber, interior trim and dashboard, new wiring harness, exhaust system, wheels and tires. This grand tourer also includes a BMIHT Certificate and photo album documenting the restoration. Knock-off hammer, spare wheel and tire, a top boot with bag and owner's manual are included.
