Description

Lot #395 - 110hp motor and the most extensive restoration possible resulted in one of the finest Corvair's offered. This Corvair has been in AZ for 48 years and always rust-free, not many classic cars can claim this. This is a truly classic car with an incredible restoration. This car was professionally restored and has a file with $46,000 worth of receipts and that does not include receipts for everything including the motor rebuild, transmission, etc. nor the acquisition cost of the car. It was stripped to bare metal. The body and paint receipts total $25k and it was a super straight car to begin with. Includes a book of the body restoration. Since then, the car has been driven only 3,000 miles and is fully sorted and an absolute joy to drive. This car is in immaculate shape, and has been stored inside a protective carcoon. Very few cars are restored to this level. The car has always been an AZ car. It was owned for 35 years by the same owner who sold it to his friend who proceeded to totally restore the car. It was then taken it to the next level with more new parts, a brand new quality top and interior restoration by a Pebble Beach concours restorer. This was completed in October 2012. The seats were hand sewn and are not a kit. The level of detail to make it the best includes a $4k brake build to put Acura brakes on the car and it stops like a modern car.
