Lot #1302 - The ultimate Resto-Mod. Built for Jimmy Richardson of Big Pop's Garage by Classic Automotive Restoration Specialists, the car has had a body-off restoration. Beginning with the frame which has been powder coated black by Premier Powder Coating, we then added Hotchkis Performance suspension components including front and rear sway bars, rear boxed lower control arms, adjustable upper rear control arms, tubular front upper and lower control arms with Hotchkis Performance coil springs. Before placing the body on the chassis Classic Automotive filled the frame with top name components such as a new Moser 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 gears, a limited-slip and 33 spline axles with "C" clip eliminators. A 4-wheel disc brake system from SSBC was installed and connected with custom stainless steel brake lines. Classic Automotive was aware of the recovered ZL-1 tooling recovered by GM, since they were not producing an all-aluminum 427 big block they decided to do it. Using all GM parts available and a crankshaft from Scat, Classic produced a very streetable ZL-1 motor producing 486hp and 463lb/ft of torque. Coupled to the ZL-1 is a Keisler Tremec 5-speed TKO 600 with a new dynamically balanced driveshaft. Once the chassis was complete, Classic installed the beautifully massaged and straight black body down on the chassis. Keeping with the Resto-Mod theme, neither the exterior nor the interior were modified, except for the 180 watt stereo conversion, custom tilt steering column and Wheel Vintiques 68 Series wheels. The Coker Tire red line radials give the car that '60s touch. It also has air conditioning. This is one great car to drive. Every part on this car has been restored. Copies of the build record and detailed photos are available. Only 360 miles since completion. From the Jimmy Richardson Collection.
