Lot #653 - This 1965 Ranchero was the ultimate sport truck from Ford in 1965. A 289cid V8 with 4V carburetor put 225hp to the tires which was more than enough. The 4-speed floor shift, bucket seats, console, padded dash, electric clock and factory air conditioning all add to the rarity of this Ranchero. This year Ford went all out to say style with elegance. This particular Ranchero was photographed extensively as an example of available options for a Ranchero in '65. This car was sought out to be the centerfold of the book "Falcon" a well written history of Ford's development of the Falcon, Ranchero and station wagons by Ray Miller. This car has had a total frame-off restoration that would please the most discerning Ranchero collector. Model 66H, vintage burgundy paint, bucket seats, center console, 289cid engine, 4V carburetor, 4-speed transmission, power steering, air conditioning, dash mounted electric clock, deluxe AM radio, back up lights, outside mirrors with remote control, day/night mirror, padded sun-visors, padded dash/instrument panel, deluxe heater, deluxe courtesy lights, rocker panel molding and wire wheel covers all factory installed.
