Description

Lot #766 - Presented in the rare color of Sandalwood Tan with black bucket seat interior. Powered by a L34 396/360hp V8 engine, M20 4-speed manual transmission, G80 3.73:1 posi-traction rear, center console, knee knocker tachometer, special dash instrumentation gauges, AM push-button radio, rear antenna, tinted windshield, 14x6 date coded JK steel wheels on correct 775x14 red line tires and dog dish caps. That's what you see. What you don't see is this is the car the "66-67 Chevelle SS Essential Fact Book" was based on. This is a completely numbers matching car to the Nth degree. Not just the engine, transmission and rear end, but every single component is 100% correct and documented extensively. Every nut and bolt. Every fit and finish. The car was meticulously frame-off restored to 100% factory specs with details that most frame-off restorations miss. Details that can't always be seen by the casual observer. The car is painted in factory correct lacquer including the interior metal. Every finish from top to bottom, inside and out is correct. All parts are original and where original parts were not able to be used, NOS correct date coded parts were used. This car is extensively documented with the original Protect-O-Plate, warranty booklet, original dealer invoice, original retail order form and even the original keys. Other documentation includes full previous owner documentation, mileage history, restoration photos and extensive documentation of every number on all parts. The car was shown at the last NCOA Chevelle Showdown in CT and won it all including the Platinum Award, Best Interior, Highest Scoring Car in Class and Editor's Choice Award. It was also shown at the ACES Chevelle-abration in TN and won the highest award, The Top Three Award. It is a 2008 AACA National First Place Senior Winner and is ready to move on to AACA Grand National status. Always shown with the wheels off and mirrors underneath, even under the dash. By invitation, this car represented the 1966 Chevelle SS model at the 2007 GM Nationals in Carlisle. The car is always climate control garaged and always transported in an enclosed trailer. This car needs to be in the hands of someone who can truly appreciate the extent of correctness and originality in this restoration. With this kind of pedigree and this level of correctness, it is truly the best of the best.
