Description
Lot #1588 - This incredible machine has 38,000 original miles and whole trunk full of trophies. One of only 192 440-Hemi, 4 speed, 2 door, hard tops, this numbers matching beauty with original build sheet and factory "HEMI" tag, is quite possibly the finest original Coronet Hemi in existence today. Re-painted once to black for competition, the white interior is completely original and immaculate. Purchased in 1974 by third owner, Bill Blanchard and sponsored first by Dean Evans Chrysler, Plymouth, Honda in Orem, Utah and then by Naylor Auto Dodge in Provo, Utah, it was raced at Bonneville International Raceway (now Rocky Mountain Raceway) in its current form. Extras include headers, straight exhaust, factory competition intake manifold, twin four-barrel carbs, hydraulic high-performance lifters, a factory hemi-grind "streetable" cam and 4:56 rear gear ratio. Original parts are also included. Raced only 5 times, Hemi Fever finished consistently in the low to mid 12's. The former owner claims that Don Garlitts offered to buy Hemi Fever for $20,000 in the 1970's. Stored in the last 25 years, this fine example of the ultimate muscle machine is in the exact condition as when it last raced.
