Lot #1057 1967 AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 MARK III BJ8 CONVERTIBLE
Lot #1057 - 1967 was the last year for the Austin-Healey 3000 and in the 15 years since the first Healey 100, a beautiful no frills sports car that is very much cherished today, to the beautiful Healey 3000 Mark III which has turned into a great touring car with roll up windows, a proper convertible top and a beautiful walnut wood dash. This Austin-Healey has had a recent total body-off, bare chassis, rotisserie restoration by Healey Lane Restoration of Oregon to the highest standards using the National Austin Healey Club Concours as a guide. A photo album of the restoration goes with the car. All the panels and chassis have been stripped to bare metal and painted in the very popular Healey Ice Blue. The interior is finished in Navy Blue leather and vinyl with dark blue carpet. All the gauges have been rebuilt. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt and the engine rebuild included new pistons, hard valves and seats, aftermarket rear crankshaft seal kit installed and the engine, including the clutch was balanced for a smoother operation engine. The carburetors were rebuilt by noted expert Joe Curto of New York. All the electrical system is new or rebuilt. The brakes and clutch have all new cylinders including new front calipers, soft and hard fluid lines. All chrome is new or restored in show quality triple plate chrome. All rubber parts are new. There are five new chrome wheels with new tires. The exhaust system is new and the proper type for a BJ8. There is new glass installed. Many parts have been powder coated including the top frame and tonneau support bar done in proper gray. The front coil springs, suspension parts and many more parts were coated in black. All the original fasteners, carburetor linkage and much more have been stripped and plated in a shinny zinc finish. This is a Healey that you can be proud of and will always draw a crowd of admiring on lookers at any event. This Healey is a joy to drive.
