Description

Lot #665.3 - In 1967 Don Yenko changed the muscle car world by creating the Yenko Super Camaro. Surviving examples of these beasts are all but impossible to come by. This is an ultimate re-creation of the Yenko Camaro. This Bolero Red masterpiece started with a correct JE code 427 Corvette block dated within 1 week of the car's build date. The engine was built to L72 specs with the exception of a 10:1 compression ratio to allow use of today's pump gas. A 6223 forged crank, correct dated 840 rectangle port heads, 5069 Winters manifold, hooker headers and a solid Comp Cams nostalgia cam with stock specs compliment the correctly dated 1967 M21 Muncie 4-speed and 4.10:1 12-bolt rear end. The car has the correct J52 power disc brakes, heavy duty suspension and correct interior with a restored AM radio, in-dash tach, console, gauge package and walnut steering wheel. A rear aerial, rear spoiler and full SS trim finish out the stunning laser straight exterior. The car is beautifully and meticulously restored to the specs that Chevrolet and Don Yenko architected back in 1967. 15" Rally wheels, Firestone wide ovals and a heavy duty Harrison radiator add to the time capsule that captures the genius of Don Yenko and leaves the competition in the rear view mirror. Dyno results accompany this car.
