Lot #1350 - The top engine package for the 1967 Pontiac GTO was the optional 400ci Ram Air, which was grossly underrated at 360hp - essentially a factory race package aimed at the street. This car is one of only a very few produced by the factory with the close-ratio 4-speed transmission and a 4.33:1 Safe-T-Track rear axle. Starting with an exceptionally nice car, this car received a recent complete nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration by well-known restorer Lee Barnes of Barnes Restorations, in Piedmont, SC. Careful attention was given to ensure that everything was restored to an "as-new" show-quality condition. Upon completion, this past summer the GTO went to the 2015 GTOAA National Convention to be judged and received a top Concours Gold award, with a score of 651 of 700. This car has the correct Ram Air engine (Code XS), which has been fully restored, as were all associated components. The body was refinished in the correct and original Signet Gold color. The black vinyl top and gold bucket seat interior were redone by Carolina Trim. Detail was given to each and every part of this no-expense-spared restoration. The underside is as nice as the top side. The car comes with all the PHS paperwork and Pontiac Window Sticker. This is an extremely rare and collectible car. From the Thomas Stutzman Collection.
