Description

Lot #978 - 396/350hp, 4-speed, 12-bolt LeMans Blue on black loaded with factory options, gauges, Tic-Toc-Tach, console. Has been completely restored to a better than new condition while maintaining as much originality as possible. It is powered by a date correct 396/350hp big block engine backed up with a Muncie M20 wide ratio transmission fitted with M22 spec gears giving it that sought after whine that Rock Crusher Muncie's were noted for. The rear end is a 12-bolt posi-traction unit fitted with 3.73 gears. The LeMans Blue finish is highlighted by a White Bumblebee nose stripe and a black vinyl bucket seat interior. The exterior has been treated to all new chrome including bumpers, chrome trim and emblems as well as new glass and weather stripping. The interior has correct new carpet, door panels and seat covers as well as a reconditioned tach and gauge package. The car is very well optioned for the era it was built indicating that the original owner wanted to be relatively comfortable in addition to superior performance. Options on the car include the Super sport package, Rally Sport package, 396/350hp engine, Muncie 4-speed transmission, power steering, tach and gauges, simulated wood steering wheel, upgraded Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes and posi-traction rear end. Upgrades on the car to improve handling to modern standards include the Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes and new 17" REV wheels and performance radial tires. The Camaro drives and handles very well due mainly to the very high quality of the restoration, the power of the legendary 396 engine as well as the tasteful use of a modern brake system and wheel and tire combination.
