Lot #378 - First put into service in Vietnam, the Military Utility Tactical Truck played an active part in American military operations well into the late 1980's, when it was phased out in favor of the Humvee. Nevertheless the M151 had some distinct advantages over its much larger and heavier successor, like being small enough to fit inside a C130 cargo plane or CH53 heavy transport helicopter and narrow enough to traverse areas too tight for the Humvee. Reason why the US Marine Corps kept deploying M151 Fast Attack Vehicle variants through 1999. According to the military it is still used in very small numbers by the US Marine Corps in remote locations around the world. This is an unrestored 5,200 original miles Jeep with Bantam trailer, only receiving one new repaint of original Army Olive Drab Green paint. Vehicle was in service from 1968 to approximately 1988 in Yuma, AZ for training purposes. This Vietnam era Jeep has been in a private collection since and used for parades and military events and functions. Runs and drives great, 4-wheel independent suspension, bulletproof 4 cylinder engine, 4-speed transmission, working privacy and blackout lighting, new military spec canvas top and trailer cover, street legal, runs and functions as did when new, quality piece of military hardware sold with early Bantam trailer.
