Description
Lot #605 - This vehicle is 100% original and unrestored including all original Jeffries pin striping intact. The late Dean Jeffries, who passed last May, is famous for creating many unique customs of the late 1960s. The Manta Ray is one of his which is considered by many to be the best custom of all time and the Kyote II may just be the coolest dune buggy of all time. It was owned by Vic Edelbrock until January of 2010. Its unique features include dual opening doors and tailgate with two removable tops for different purposes. The engine is a zesty 1,835cc souped up VW with an Edelbrock Bug Spray 2 barrel carburetor, manifold and valve covers. Built on a full-length 1968 VW chassis, three were used in desert action movies and this one was last street driven until 1995. Some California police departments used these for their beach patrol cars. Note the complete set of rare green line vintage Stewart Warner gauges. From the Wes Abendroth Collection. **TITLED AS A 1968 ASVE KYOTE** **BRANDED AS SPECIALY CONSTRUCTED**
