Lot #1601 1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO RS/SS INDY PACE CAR CONVERTIBLE
Lot #1601 - This real Z11 Indianapolis Pace Car has a 350ci engine, 4-speed Muncie transmission, cowl induction, headlight washers, power steering, power brakes and power top. The car is autographed by Mario Andretti, the winner of the 1969 Indianapolis 500. This car has the proper numbers and cowl tag to verify it as an original Pace Car. It is only one of 3,675 ever produced under the Z11 production code. It was built at the Norwood, OH, plant in the fourth week of March 1969 - the same time as those used at the race. The engine is the correct 350/300hp with the correct Muncie 4-speed transmission, Hurst shifter and linkage assembly and the original 12-bolt posi-traction rear. This is a great piece of Camaro and Indianapolis 500 history.
