Lot #189 - This Super Sport Camaro is equipped with the original 396/325hp engine, factory M20 4-speed transmission, original "BR" Code 12-bolt posi-traction rear axle, power steering, power disc brakes with original two piece rotors, smog equipment, original YJ 14" Rally wheels with white letter tires, and a bumper jack that is all original and coded "8G" with U69 base. This Camaro does have its original GM big block 396 reverse lockout rod and idler. The original GM big block 396 stainless steel starter shield is present as well. The body was virtually rust free prior to the start of the restoration. It was completely stripped, primed, blocked and painted. The paint is two stage PPG urethane. The trunk was stripped, seam sealed and splatter painted at time of restoration. The underside was also stripped and painted along with the sub-frame being removed and painted. The interior was restored and reupholstered back to original. The front and rear seat covers, door panels, carpeting were replaced. There are still some original pieces like the headrest, arm rest and pillar post which are original GM and date coded. The date trim plate decodes as follows: 715 blue standard interior 71 Lemans Blue paint, E white vinyl top and 9B build second week of September 1968. The engine stamping reads as follows: T0905JB with the last of the VIN on the pad. The block casting number is 3935440 and has a date of June 1968. Cylinder heads are 3931063 and dated August 28, 1968 and June 19, 1968. Rear axle reads BR0814G2 E. Overall, this is a real Super Sport 396 Camaro that looks good, runs great and drives real nice.
