Lot #1096 - This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Rally Sport has been IAAA certified three times by Jerry MacNeish. This car was certified prior to the restoration in 2012 and again after the restoration in 2013. After the first certification, corrections that Jerry's report noted were made. Although Jerry indicated on his second report that the paint was "very good," it was completely repainted in 2014 to compete for the highest show level. As the NCRS Shipping Data Report indicates, this car was produced on March 7, 1969, and it was shipped to Fletcher Motor Co. in Fletcher, NC. The sheet metal is all-original with exception of the trunk pan. The body is very straight with great gaps throughout. It sports its original color combination of Cortez Silver, black stripes, black vinyl top and parchment houndstooth deluxe interior. This is a rare color combination. The paint is absolutely stunning and show-quality and the parchment houndstooth deluxe interior is beautiful. The highly detailed engine compartment is home to the original matching-numbers DZ 302/290hp V8. The engine is coupled to the original matching-numbers Muncie 4-speed transmission. The power is transferred to the pavement through the original matching-numbers 12-bolt rear axle with posi-traction and 3.73 gear ratio. The factory-code order options include tinted glass, vinyl top, remote control mirror, center console, spoiler equipment, posi-traction, 3.73 ratio, disc brakes, M21 transmission, tilt steering column, wood steering wheel, power steering, special instrumentation, AM/FM radio, Rally Sport package, deluxe interior, special ducted hood, deluxe seat belts and special engine and equipment package. This car scored 992 of 1,000 possible points achieving Gold Level at the Camaro Nationals in 2014. The judging sheet also indicates it was approved for the Legends class in 2015. It also achieved the Outstanding Restored award from ISCA in 2015.
