INDIAN FIRE RED
Lot #407 - This original 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet was built in November 1968 in Dearborn, Michigan. This is one of the finest, non-restored Mach 1's in the nation. Truly a car that has been well cared for from day one. This Mach 1 was equipped at the factory with the following options: 428 Cobra Jet engine, Cruise-O-Matic transmission, FR70x14 wde oval radials with white sidewalls, power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, AM radio, tinted glass and fingertip speed control. The fingertip speed control was only installed in 258 sportsroof Mustangs in 1969. Since Ford built 134,438 sportsroof Mustangs in 1969, that option puts this car in less than 1/5th of one percent built. The 428 Cobra Jet "Q" Code non-ram engine with the automatic transmission was only put in 1,280 sportsroof Mustangs making this car a less than one percent of total built with just that engine/transmission combination. The 1969 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet was America's fastest production car in 1969. Ford advertised both the 428 Ram Air "R" Code engine and the 428 non ram "Q" Code engine with 335hp. The world quickly found out that these production big blocks were producing upwards to 400hp right out of the factory. This well taken care of, original number matching 1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet also comes with the original Window Sticker and a Marti Report.
