Description

Lot #971 - The Challenger T/A was Dodge's late entry into the Trans-Am racing circuit. This was a one year only build and they only produced 2,400 of them. The T/A before you is one of only 989 4-speeds ever built and one of only 48 built with the rear louver option. This car has received a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration over the past two years with great attention to factory specs and no deviations from the build sheets. All sheet metal is original with all vin numbers in correct places and each panel is prepped to perfection. The EB5 Bright Blue metallic paint job is finished in its factory correct blue with no vinyl top and is beautiful. The gorgeous B5 blue interior is in excellent shape and makes for one stunning color combination. The original born with 340 T/A block is matching numbers along with the correct angle plug "J" heads. All correct factory stampings on right front of block verify assembly time and Hi-performance internals of this special Six Pack engine. The correct 4-speed transmission is matching numbers and the original 3:91 Sure-Grip rear end is still in place. The entire drivetrain performs beautifully and is a lot to handle when all six barrels kick in. Correct space saver tire, jack and canister are in the trunk. The documentation includes two very nice original Build Sheets, Galen Deluxe report and is listed in both the Chrysler and Challenger T/A Registries. Documented matching numbers 4-speed T/As are a rare find and to find one in this highly desirable color combination with these options is near impossible. Please take the time to look underneath this rare car to see the time and research to complete this restoration. Bid knowing you are buying a piece of one year only Mopar racing history.
