Lot #640 - All '70 Cobras had the 429 engine. This one is the "J" code Ram Air 370hp. This is a California rust-free car. All numbers match. This is one of the nicest, most correct cars I have ever seen. Undercarriage is clean and original. Still has the original exhaust on it. All original body panels. Shaker Hood, rear window louvers, magnum wheels and factory air that works great. Date-coded belts, hoses, battery cables, plug wires, etc. Original carburetor, alternator, starter and date-coded water pump. All chrome re-done. Base coat/clear coat Competition Yellow over a soda blasted body. Original spare still in the trunk. California emissions. Lots of documentation including the original warranty card, owner's manual, warranty manual and vehicle registrations. Also the original dealer's tag brackets with the California license plates. All brackets were powdercoated when done. Grille and headlamps restored. Upper control arms are original and still bare metal. All the correct fuel line brackets and correct paint detail inside and out. The only thing not correct is the radio and I have the original and it will go with the car. This car even has the original Autolite distributor cap with the #1 plug wire marked in the cap just as when it was new. This is one of those cars that few people understand or know about, especially the detail stuff. Most of the factory paint marks on the suspension, steering box, driveshaft, rear end and leaf springs are still visible. All original numbers drivetrain. In fact just about everything is original. The undercarriage is very clean, rust-free and looks pretty much like it did when new. It also has the original exhaust, original dual diaphragm vacuum advance that has been rebuilt and re-plated. The carburetor, engine and air conditioner original tags are all in place. I have stencils and pictures of the numbers on the engine and the VIN numbers that are hidden under the fenders on the uni-body towards the back. Everything on the car is Autolite, as it should be. No Motorcraft anywhere. The heat shield is still on the manifold. All the choke assembly is there on the carb, which by the way is a quadra-jet, as it should be. It has the original distributor with a Petronix in it. This is one of the nicest most original Cobras you will ever find. What really makes it great is the documentation, which includes the Marti Report that proves the authenticity of this 1970 Torino 429 Cobra Jet.
