Lot #1276 - Listed in the Official Yenko Turbo Z Registry. Since 1987, The Official Yenko Turbo Z Registry has been logging in information on all of the 1981 Z/28 Camaros built by Don Yenko and his Camaro Team. These Camaros were of limited production and it is believed that only 19 were produced. This Camaro was shipped to Yenko Chevrolet in February 1981, where it was transformed into what "Hot Rod" magazine labeled "The Ultimate Camaro", a Yenko Turbo Z. This particular car is one of the Turbo black editions. Only 200 Turbo Z's were projected to be sold from the famous Chevy Store in McMurray, PA. Turbo Z #10 was purchased on June 6, 1981, and is believed to be only 1 of 19 built. This Camaro is the very first Yenko Turbo Z logged into the Registry in July 1987 at the Camaro Street Nationals East which was sponsored by the International Camaro Club. This is also the very first Camaro to win the prestigious Don Yenko Memorial Award presented annually at The Nationals East. It is the highest performance honor at the event. Yenko Turbo Z #10 is believed to be the only model outfitted with a cigarette lighter. All of the other registered Turbo Z's do not have one. All other lighters were disposed of to make room for the boost gauge and water level indicator on the dash. This is a 100% original car with original tires, original spark plugs in the original Turbocharger and original paint and interior. Documented with the original paperwork including Window Sticker. The reason this car is all original is it was ordered by a woman and she sold it to another female and it was never messed with and then the current owner got it. The only thing that is not original is the battery, but the original is included in the sale. Documented with all the paperwork including the dealer packet, Window Sticker, color chart, Yenko dealer invoice and COPO Connection paperwork. Also features a Stage I unit and Turbo Z/28 graphics with a front spoiler. This was Yenko order #187298. This car was on the front cover of "Muscle Car" Magazine and featured in an article titled "Yenko's Last Stand". There is too much paperwork to list. From the Gary Holub Collection.
