Lot #705 - This is a rare 6-speed equipped example of Aston Martin's DB AR1, an extremely limited edition roadster offered in 2003 that is bodied by famed Italian coach builder Zagato. A mere 99 were produced in total, and this is the only Aston Martin ever to be produced with the sole intent of being sold exclusively to the North American market. The sensational body features a special front grille, bulged fenders, a sculpted rear end with bespoke tail lights, and double bubble slopes behind the seats. This Aston is a true roadster in that it seats two people in an exclusively trimmed cabin. Where a run-of-the-mill DB7 has rear seats, the AR1 has an opulent, quilted leather package tray with leather tie down straps that matches the rest of the hand stitched interior with its quilted inserts on the seats. Under the hood is an uprated, "GT" spec 6.0 litre V12 good for 435hp with a factory installed active sports exhaust system that incorporates a rear muffler bypass valve. The brakes are upgraded with slotted rotors and Pagid high-performance pads, and the clutch is also upgraded to an AP racing twin plate unit. This AR1 has also been fitted with custom 19" forged HRE wheels and remains under full factory warranty.
