WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., – March 29, 2008 – Collector car sales remain strong after two days of No Reserve auction action at the 6th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in West Palm Beach, Fla. Combined automotive sales from March 27-28 totaled nearly $10 million with automobilia sales up almost 50 percent from last year. Attendance numbers at the Americraft Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds climbed nine percent from last year, as approximately 33,300 visitors enjoyed the first two days of the automotive lifestyle event. The auction continues today with premier collector cars scheduled to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block. SPEED will broadcast the block action live from 2-6 p.m. EDT.

“Sales have been solid and we’re gearing up for an incredible day of action in Palm Beach,” said Steve Davis, president of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “This year’s event features an impressive lineup of collector cars, several exciting new experiences and an outstanding offering of automobilia. Response to this year’s event has been fantastic as people are enjoying every aspect of the automotive lifestyle present only at Barrett-Jackson, including a strong group of bidders who want to take home a great collector car. In fact, 46 percent of them are first time bidders, which shows the continued and growing interest in the collector car hobby and Barrett-Jackson’s lifestyle events.”
