Director of Marketing & Public Relations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall marketing supervision and direct involvement with the marketing staff.
- Plan, initiate and negotiate new business opportunities, particularly in the areas of media/merchandising and marketing.
- Set long-term strategic direction and oversee the development of the marketing plans and PR efforts. Included in this effort would be the creation of a public relations strategy with emphasis on media relations, announcements, editorial placement, press releases and supporting materials.
- Identify, communicate and help resolve key issues with the executive management team.
- Develop relationships with media contacts and, in conjunction with CEO and President, become intimately involved in presenting the company's position on various business matters.
- With the assistance of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, manage external relationships, including advertising and promotion agencies.
- Responsible for all marketing elements including media, advertising, promotions, public relations and, working with the Director of Licensing and Branding, licensing providing brand input.
- Research business development concepts designed to increase business and create new revenue streams, and prepare recommendations and projections for senior management.
- Achieve marketing goals and metrics as set by management team.
- Shape market research objectives, plans, analysis, and presentations to senior management in order to support the company business plan and the company direction.
- Develop new third-party relationships to complement the company's core business.
- Supervise the RFP protocol process including soliciting RFP's from desirable prospective clients and writing proposals for new business.
- Oversee corporate communications activities through support staff including: external communications and systems; internal communications and systems; public relations efforts.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree and strong academic credentials required. MBA is preferred.
- Significant experience in developing advertising, new products, media plans, and working with sales personnel.
- Ability to coordinate high work volume and pressing time requirements.
- Ability to make sound business decisions, with demonstrated ability to gather and analyze factual information necessary to formulate recommendations in diverse situations.
- Effective time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient PC skills required.
- A strong ability to deal with ambiguity, change, conflict, and high demands.
- Exceptional verbal and presentation skills required.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
Sponsor Sales Manager
Job Description
- Plan, initiate and negotiate new business opportunities, particularly in the areas of sponsorship sales
- Identify and develop new client business
- Help to develop and grow a robust sales culture within Barrett-Jackson
- Research new business development concepts designed to increase business and create new revenue streams, and prepare recommendations and projections for senior management on same
- Establish and integrate repeatable processes that generate effective results across multiple clients
- Achieve corporate sponsorship sales goals and renewal targets as set by management team. Manage contract negotiations to finalize all business development opportunities and sponsorship commitments
- Work with marketing team to develop integrated marketing opportunities and "added value" programs for sponsors
- Manage sponsorship fulfillment for all sponsors
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to successfully implement new business concepts
- Develop new third-party relationships to complement the Company's core business
Education/Experience
- Experience in a start-up company or other entrepreneurial environment strongly preferred
- Experience in exhibit and/or sponsorship sales preferred
- Proven ability to transfer effective winning sales concepts and strategies across industries
- Ability to travel required
- Demonstrated success with cold calling and closing opportunities is a necessity

Web Programmer
Job Description
- Maintain current internet website applications
- Develop enhancements to existing internet applications
- Gather requirements from technical staff and end-users on website development needs; meet with users and technical staff on specifics of projects, new technologies and deadlines
- Uses programming/scripting languages to build user interface applications and back-end databases
- Authors complex web pages and assists in project planning and website design
- Creates prototypes and functional specifications for software projects
- Creates technical methodologies to solve web-based development problems
- Evaluates new web technologies with respect to Barrett-Jackson needs
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in programming and/or web development
- 3+ years experience in ASP.Net 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 using C# programming with SQL 2000/2005 database experience
- Proven experience using AJAX.Net, Javascript, XML, XSL, T/SQL, CSS, Model View Presenter Design Patterns, Web Applications, and Web Services. Exposure to WPF, WF, WCF, and Enterprise Services helpful but not necessary.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proven excellent attendance/punctuality history
- Knowledge of common internet technologies and familiarity with variations in popular web browsers
