Description
The seemingly timeless classic style of the Pagoda Roof Mercedes-Benz SL series roadsters is well appreciated by car enthusiasts around the world. These cars, in particular the later 280SL variants, are a classic car that can be driven safely and reliably in todays traffic. This 1969 model year American market 280SL is a fine example of a classic Mercedes-Benz roadster in good mechanical order having been thru a recent thorough service that included a complete new factory MB exhaust system and major brake system overhaul. Completely original and unmodified condition right down to the correct Becker AM/FM factory radio. Automatic transmission, power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes and both tops all make for an enjoyable driving 280SL. The folding soft top is correct to original, Black German canvas and great condition. An original Code "568" Signal Red/Black Top car documented by the factory build data card recently obtained from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center, not a change of color as so many other red examples seen today. Very nice older repaint on a straight rust-free body and an overall smooth running and driving car just recently purchased out of a small collection owned by a long time Mercedes-Benz dealer in the Northeast. These 113 body SL's are becoming increasingly hard to find in an affordable condition to drive and enjoy. A real, factory Red, 280SL will be a rewarding ownership experience thru the years.
