Description
This Ken Miles edition MKII GT40 was presented to Shelby Automobiles in 2008. The first car in a run of cars to commemorate the Shelby American driver. It is a quality re-creation of the original GT40 that beat Ferrari and finished in the top three positions in the grueling Le Mans 24 Hours in 1966. In developing the exhilarating GT40 continuation, engineers went to great lengths to ensure authenticity. The GT40 also carries the GT40/P chassis number and is eligible for the official GT40 registry. This GT40 continuation is built to exacting standards; over two thirds of the rolling chassis's parts are interchangeable with that of an original car, including the 'monocoque" style chassis. The car boasts of a pressed steel roof and beautifully finished body. The left-hand drive car has never been driven and is set up to accept a period correct Ford 427 F.E. engine and a ZF or RBT transaxle; the drivetrain is not included with the car. The car will be listed in the Shelby World Registry. This GT40 includes: Original style steel monocoque assembled chassis, Show quality PPG paint finishes, original style fully independent front and rear suspension, Bilstein® coil over progressive shocks with H&R Springs, four-wheel vented disc brakes with Wilwood calipers, aluminum radiator/oil cooler with dual electric fans, pressed steel roof, shifter & handbrake located in center of tunnel, original style seats with silver rivets, high capacity air-conditioner, oil cooler and braided lines, center engine scoop, double brake lights, bolt on adjustable spoiler, 15" Halibrand style wheels with Goodyear GT2 tires, aggressive snorkel air intakes, single scoop hood insert.
