Description

The 454 cu in, 450 hp LS6 engine was put together with care at Chevrolet's big-block V-8 production plant in Tonawanda, N.Y. They were specially built from oil pan to air cleaner with real super car performance in mind. Chevelles fitted with this wonderful engine were rare. A convertible LS6 was even more rare. Current thinking is that only seventeen LS6 convertibles with the M-22 4-speed transmission were built. This example is an all numbers matching, fully optioned car which has a known history from new. The first owner sold the car in 1988/9 to noted muscle car collector Dick Bridges. A fully documented restoration then ensued with Scott Teaman, complete with a photographic record. It is complete with the original build sheets, window sticker and sales contract. Mr. Bridges owned the car until late 2001. A noted automotive journalist said of the LS6 "driving an LS6 Chevelle is like being the guy who's in charge of triggering atom bomb tests. You have the power, you know you have the power, and you know that if you use that power, bad things may happen". This car will put that awesome power in your hands.
