Description

In early 1970, Ron Oakler of Cleveland, OH, decided he wanted to go racing. Back then GM was happy to accommodate him. Ron went into his local Chevrolet dealer in Cleveland and purchased one of the most potent muscle cars ever produced, a 1970 396/375hp L78 Nova. These cars were heavily raced back in the day and very few have survived the test of time. An original L78 Nova is rare in its own right, but this example is finished in its original born with black/black color combination as documented by the 19/19 on the original cowl tag. Ron took delivery of his new rocket ship and headed straight off to Thompson Dragways. His success is evidenced by the original class winner decals still in the window today. The car has had a complete frame-off nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. Unlike today, in the 60s and 70s black was one of the rarest colors used. To sum it up, you are looking at a real 1970 black/black RPO L78, 396/375hp, Chevrolet Nova that still retains its original born with matching numbers motor and cowl tag with less than 18,000 original miles. Title represents mileage exempt. Seller represents original miles, and will provide a notarized, written affidavit to that effect. Documentation includes complete owner history to new, the original cowl tag, the original born with matching numbers motor and a Certificate of Authenticity by Jerry MacNeish. This confirms it as a real L78 Nova.
