FedEx Intercity

HOW DO I CONSIGN MY CAR?

The first step in the Consignment process is filling out a Preliminary Consignment Request Form complete with photos and a copy of your title, front and back.

After we have received the Consignment Request, we will contact you with more information on pricing, estimated value and availability at upcoming auctions.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF GOING NO RESERVE?

No Reserve attracts serious bidders. A vehicle being sold at No Reserve indicates that it will be sold to the highest bidder and generates true auction block excitement, which typically equates to higher bids.

WHAT IS MY CAR WORTH?

Barrett-Jackson does not guarantee values or prices for particular vehicles. Barrett-Jackson nor any agent of Barrett-Jackson can guarantee values or prices as a result of the auction process. We will work with you to determine an estimated auction value, but in a No Reserve auction, the final price is ultimately determined by the Bidders.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO SELL MY CAR?

To sell a vehicle at Barrett-Jackson, the Consignor is responsible for an entry fee as well as a Seller’s commission of 8% of the hammer price. The entry fee is determined by day and time of your Lot entry and includes tent space. Payment of fees without a signed contract does not constitute a consignment agreement.

DOES THE TITLE HAVE TO BE IN MY NAME TO CONSIGN A VEHICLE?

Yes, unless you are a Dealer.

HOW DO I GET MY VEHICLE TO THE AUCTION SITE?

It is the Consignor’s responsibility to get the vehicles to the auction site. Barrett-Jackson is proud to be sponsored by two car transport companies. Contact Intercity Lines 1-800-221-3936 or FedEx Custom Critical 1-800-325-4267

WHEN DO I NEED TO DELIVER MY CAR?

For our Palm Beach event, we begin accepting vehicles starting Sunday, April 5th from 8am until 5pm. Bidder Preview day is Wednesday, April 8th,  so all vehicles should be in place at this time. Checking in early is recommended to avoid long lines and time constraints, plus you will have maximum exposure to potential buyers..

DO I HAVE TO BE THERE WHEN MY CAR ARRIVES?

No, if your paperwork is complete. However, if the paperwork isn't complete, your car will then be held in a holding area until all required documents are received and your VIN number is verified.

DO I HAVE TO BE THERE WHEN MY CAR SELLS?

We encourage either the Consignor or a representative to be with the vehicle on the auction site. After all, who knows your vehicle better than you? You should also be available to answer questions regarding your car's condition and history.

DO YOU HAVE ANYONE ON SITE THAT CAN DETAIL MY CAR?

Yes, there are detailers available on site that provides this service for a fee.

CAN I COVER MY CAR WHEN IT IS LEFT IN ITS CONSIGNMENT SPACE?

Yes, but it your responsibility to uncover your vehicle for viewing and maintain control of your cover.

CAN I BRING AND DISPLAY ITEMS WITH MY CAR?

Yes, we encourage such things as copies of documentation and awards to be displayed. However, keep in mind that you have limited space, therefore, be selective about the items you choose to display.

What do i do with documentation or property that goes with the car?

Barrett-Jackson has created a Property Room to secure and collect all of the documentation and special items that go with each auction vehicle. When a vehicle is checked in to the auction site, a Barrett-Jackson representative will remove all of the property from the vehicle and secure it for the new owner. That is why copies of your important documents are helpful to showcase the provenance of a vehicle while on display at the event.

ONCE CHECKED INTO MY ASSIGNED LOCATION, CAN I MOVE MY VEHICLE?

No. Your vehicle will be assigned a space where it will remain until it is time to go over the block.

WHEN WILL MY CAR SELL ON THE BLOCK?

Barrett-Jackson cannot predict the exact time my vehicle will cross the auction block. Each individual Lot takes a different amount of time to sell. Also, Barrett-Jackson reserves the right to add additional Lot numbers. A Barrett-Jackson representative will be able to tell you what day your vehicle will sell, and 3-4 hour window for the sale.

CAN I DRIVE MY CAR OVER THE AUCTION BLOCK?

Yes, you may with adherence to all applicable Motor Vehicle Laws, or we will supply a driver for you.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY CAR GOES OVER THE AUCTION BLOCK?

When your car sells, it is moved to a dedicated location until the new owner takes it home. After 21 banking days, the proceeds from the sale are mailed to the Consignor.
