Lot #665.3 - You are viewing a very impressive 1953 Studebaker dubbed "Studester." This car has so many modifications that you would need a book to cover them all. The car started as a stock body and then went under the knife to create this fine piece of artwork. The exterior modifications include: body shortened 20", Porsche windshield, quarter panel raised 1.5", Frenched-in taillights and headlights, rear bumper sectioned and custom built into quarter panel for a smoothed look, trunk lid shaved and flattened out, custom built rear deck panel, doors cut and rounded like a Porsche with built in side view mirrors, custom cut door panels, front fenders extended and vents filled in, custom grill with LED parking lights, front bumper sectioned and shaved, lower valance panel extended out to meet bumper, custom exhaust tip built into rear bumper and custom 20"and 18" Billet Specialties wheels. The interior modifications include: dashboard extended with digital gauges, hidden rear view mirror in dashboard, custom built console with hidden switches, seats built into rear body panel, custom made aluminum steering wheel and column, all vinyl interior with custom trim panels and 8 disc CD changer. The drivetrain begins with a 523cid big block Ford with 9:1 compression ratio that runs on pump gas, Cobra Jet aluminum heads and intake manifold all smoothed, custom made headers, 3" exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, alternator custom built into water pump, distributor-less ignition, custom made air cleaner vented into the cowl, custom radiator cover and hoses. The transmission is the Ford C-6 unit. 9" Ford Fab rear end housing with 3.50 gears, posi-traction and 33 spline Moser axles. The suspension consists of 2x4 Air Ride suspension, Morrison control arms with stainless spindles, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, power steering and brakes, power steering cooler custom built into frame and 4-link rear suspension. The car has been featured in numerous national magazines and won awards like Boyd Coddington Pro's Pick, Best Ford in a Ford at Goodguys and the list goes on.
