1963 original triple black, 327/360hp L84 V8 engine with Rochester mechanical fuel injection. Original 4-speed BorgWarner close-ratio manual transmission, original rear differential, original dash pads, seats and door panels. 4-wheel independent suspension, power windows and AM/FM radio. The 1963 second generation of America's Sports Car received a major restyling, new mechanics and a new name, 'Stingray.' Among other features, the independent rear suspension and hidden twin headlights, which added to the aerodynamics of the car and, both became staples of the Corvette for years to come. Of the four 327 V8 engines available in 1963, the top mill was the 360hp L84 fuel injection, that engine is what can be found under the hood of this '63, which again is the rare triple-black color combination exactly as it was built in 1963, verified by the original Trim Tag. In fact, not a frame-off restoration, rather a well-maintained original with one known older lacquer repaint in its original color. This '63 has an unhit body with all of its original body panels, bonding strips and seams. It is absolutely a matching-numbers Corvette verified by perfectly lined-up date codes throughout and an untouched engine pad with floor pans that are all natural factory fiberglass, never painted or chemically treated.
